Users have the freedom to not only select their preferred topics of study but also the specific grade level from which they wish to learn.

Educational apps that offer a wide range of subjects across multiple grade levels can overwhelm users, particularly younger students, who may struggle with too many options. This challenge is compounded by the need for different visual representations and design elements for diverse subjects like Natural Science, Computer Science, and Islamic education. Additionally, tracking progress across various subjects and grades can become confusing if the app’s interface doesn’t clearly map out the user’s learning journey.
Solution
To enhance user experience in educational apps, a simple and intuitive onboarding process can help students efficiently select their subject and grade level, with progressive disclosure used to reveal complexity only when necessary. Consistent illustrations can be complemented by subtle visual distinctions like color coding or iconography for different subjects. Incorporating gamification elements—such as progress bars, badges, and rewards—along with interactive quizzes can boost engagement.
